- Operate the EU, UK and Swiss data planes on Kubernetes across several European providers, and the Frankfurt primary and Paris standby control plane.
- Own in-jurisdiction failover: health signals, failover ordering and the tests that prove a Frankfurt incident moves traffic to Dublin or Amsterdam and never to another continent.
- Maintain the Sovereign Endpoints registry with Policy Engineering: region ids, facility identifiers, certificate thumbprints and deployment types for each provider endpoint.
- Define SLOs per region, run game days that simulate provider and network failures, and lead blameless incident reviews.
- Build the packaging and upgrade path for Sovereign Dedicated, including air-gapped installs with offline licensing in customer data centres.
- Keep infrastructure as code reviewable by auditors: every change to a regional cluster traceable to a reviewed commit.
- Five or more years running production Kubernetes, with at least one multi-region or multi-cloud estate you were on call for.
- Strong Terraform or OpenTofu, Helm or Kustomize, and GitOps tooling such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Practical networking knowledge: anycast and DNS-based steering, TLS termination, mTLS between services, and BGP basics.
- Experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and alerting that pages for user impact rather than noise.
- Comfort working with Chennai colleagues across a four-hour overlap, mostly in writing.
- Experience with European providers such as OVHcloud, Scaleway, STACKIT or IONOS, or with Swiss hosting.
- Operating GPU inference runtimes such as vLLM in production.
- Exposure to BSI C5, SecNumCloud or other sovereign cloud qualification audits.
