How YTT Secunet works with Scaleway

Scaleway is a French cloud provider. Its Generative APIs product exposes serverless, OpenAI-compatible endpoints at api.scaleway.ai for a catalogue of open-weight chat and embedding models, and its documentation names fr-par (Paris) as the region for the service. For workloads that need isolation, Scaleway Managed Inference runs a dedicated model deployment for you, reachable on its own deployment hostname in fr-par, which keeps capacity and network access separate from other customers.

Because both products speak the OpenAI API, adding Scaleway to YTT Secunet is a configuration step rather than an integration project. YTT Secunet registers the serverless endpoint and any dedicated deployments as EU endpoints, resolves model aliases to Scaleway model names, and applies the same PII guardrails and receipts as for any other provider. Teams often use Scaleway as the EU-headquartered failover for a US-parented primary: if an Azure OpenAI deployment in France Central is saturated, the eu-gdpr-strict pack can fail over to a comparable open-weight model in Paris rather than to a Global deployment.

Check the specific model list and Scaleway's data processing terms for the products you use; the serverless catalogue changes as new open-weight releases arrive, and YTT Secunet's registry rechecks model availability before routing. Scaleway's Responses API support is narrower than OpenAI's (Scaleway documents no stateful mode and only function calling as a tool), so YTT Secunet routes Responses calls with server-side state to providers that support them, or rejects them, rather than letting them fail upstream.

Connect Scaleway: setup steps

  1. 01

Create a Scaleway project and an IAM API key with permission to use Generative APIs or your Managed Inference deployment.

  2. 02

If you need dedicated capacity, create a Managed Inference deployment in fr-par and note its endpoint hostname; enable private networking if your YTT Secunet data plane runs in Scaleway too.

  3. 03

Register the serverless endpoint and any dedicated deployments in YTT Secunet as EU endpoints with facility fr-par.

  4. 04

Map aliases to Scaleway model names and set Scaleway as primary or as in-jurisdiction failover for EU packs.

  5. 05

Send traffic to https://eu.yttsecunet.com/v1 with the X-YTT-Policy and X-YTT-Tenant headers and confirm the receipt shows fr-par.

Policy notes

  • Scaleway endpoints are EU and EU-headquartered; packs that score provider parent jurisdiction rank them ahead of US-parented EU regions when configured to.
  • Dedicated deployments carry an isolation tag that policies can require for special category data.
  • Responses API calls that depend on server-side state are not routed to Scaleway, matching Scaleway's documented compatibility.

Scaleway questions

Is Scaleway available outside Paris for these APIs?

Scaleway's Generative APIs documentation names fr-par as the region for the service. If you need another location, use a dedicated deployment where Scaleway offers one or a self-hosted runtime, and check Scaleway's current region list.

Which models can I use?

The open-weight models in Scaleway's current catalogue. YTT Secunet does not add models; it routes to what Scaleway serves and checks availability before activating a route.

Does YTT Secunet need a data plane inside Scaleway?

No. The Frankfurt EU data plane works well for Paris. Sovereign Dedicated customers sometimes run the data plane inside Scaleway to use private networking.
